Edcor Privacy Policy
Edcor Data Services, Inc. ("Edcor") respects the privacy of all Edcor Web Site Users ("Users") and their respective information that is transmitted through the Edcor system(s) ("Systems"). This Privacy Policy covers information we collect through this Site. Individually identifiable information about Users or their employers is not willfully disclosed to any third party without first receiving permission, or as is authorized by the applicable client agreement(s) between Edcor and/or your employer or benefits service provider(s), or as provided in this Privacy Policy. Your use of this Site is also subject to the Terms of Use (click here to view).
What Information Do We Collect?
Edcor collects information about its Users as required to provide the services ("Services") authorized by the applicable agreement(s) with your employer and/or benefits service provider(s). Edcor does not collect any unique information about you (such as your name, email address, etc.) except when you, your employer, or your benefits service provider(s) specifically and knowingly provide such information. Edcor will protect the information that is gathered on our web sites as confidential. Personally identifiable information on individual users will not be sold or otherwise transferred to unaffiliated third parties except as necessary to perform Services for you, your employer, and/or benefits service provider(s) without the approval of the User. Edcor reserves the right to contact any User regarding changes to matters relevant to the underlying service and/or the information collected.
Edcor reserves the right to perform various page view tracking and statistical analyses of user behavior and characteristics in order to measure interest in and use of the various areas of our web sites. This information may include the URL that you just came from (whether this URL is on our site or not), which URL you next go to (whether this URL is on our site or not), and what browser and computing platform you are using. Edcor may also use your computer's IP address to help diagnose problems with our Systems and to administer our website.
With Whom Does Edcor Share Information
Edcor will not share personally identifiable information about its Users with third parties other than in the performance of those Services authorized by the applicable client agreement(s) with your employer and/or benefits service provider(s) without the User's express authorization. We will, however, release specific information if required to do so in order to comply with any laws, regulations, or court orders, or if necessary to protect the rights or property of Edcor or a third party. We also share personally identifiable information with third party suppliers ("Suppliers") and service providers ("Service Providers") who we use in providing services to you, your employer and/or benefits service provider(s), as discussed more fully below.
Finally, as we develop our business, we might sell or buy businesses or assets. In transactions such as these, personally identifiable information may be one of the transferred business assets.
Suppliers and Other Service Providers
Edcor may use third party Suppliers and Service Providers to facilitate our services. For example, we may outsource the operations of one or more aspects of our Service to a Supplier or Service Provider who performs services according to our requirements. We provide personal information to Suppliers and Service Providers only if we obtain appropriate assurances from them that they will protect such information consistent with the principles provided for in this Policy. In the event we learn that a Supplier or Service Provider is not acting consistent with this Policy, we will undertake commercially reasonable efforts to prevent or stop such activities.
Edcor and Cookies
Upon each visit to Edcor's Web Sites, Edcor may send a "cookie" to your computer. A cookie is a piece of data that identifies you as a unique user. Edcor uses cookies to aid in the completion and support of your activities, web site and system administration, and to tailor the site to your specific needs.
Most browsers are initially set up to accept cookies. You can reset your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. Be aware, however, that you may not be allowed to log in or use the Edcor system if your computer refuses our cookies.
Security
Edcor uses Internet-standard efforts, such as firewalls and Secure Socket Layers (SSL), to safeguard the confidentiality of personally identifiable information about you. Using SSL means that data such as names and passwords cannot be easily deciphered by outside users. However, "perfect security" does not exist on the Internet.
Unfortunately, due to the existing regulatory environment, we cannot ensure that all of your private communications and other personally identifiable information will never be disclosed in ways not otherwise described in this policy. By way of example (without limiting the foregoing), we may be forced to disclose information to the government or third parties under certain circumstances, or third parties may unlawfully intercept or access transmissions or private communications. By your use of the Edcor web site, you hereby accept these terms and you authorize us to disclose any information about you to law enforcement or other government officials as we, in our sole discretion, believe necessary or appropriate, in connection with an investigation of fraud, intellectual property infringements, or other activity that is illegal or may expose us to legal liability. Therefore, although we use Internet-standard practices to protect your privacy, we do not promise, and you should not expect, that your personally identifiable information or private communications will remain private always.
Your Consent and Changes to the Privacy Policy
By using the Edcor system and our web site, you consent to the collection and use of your information as we have outlined in this policy. Edcor may decide to change this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post those changes on this page so that you are always aware of the information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances we disclose it. This statement and the policies outlined herein are not intended to, and do not create any contractual or other legal rights, with you or on behalf of any party.
